Overview
The CPT2 is a Fiber-Optic Cable Slitting Tool. With selected pairs of blades mounted on each side of the moving jaw - this tool is totally customized to meet your requirements.
Slitting Sheathing
The CPT2 easily slices through cable sheath with no damage to the internal fiber optic cable. The exclusive ball socket joint and factory-preset blades allow the CPT2 to glide effortlessly along any length of cable resulting in two precision slits along the cable length.

This method of cable preparation requires minimal time and effort to accomplish. A simple light pressure engages the slitter blades. A sliding jaw lock is provided to close and hold the CPT2 while preparing to apply additional pressure for pulling the sheath. This innovative approach to cable preparation saves time, increases production and is safer than conventional practices. The CPT2 is the ideal tool for every field technician required to slit fiber optic cable.
Blades
CPT2 blades are factory preset to guarantee trouble-free slitting. Every pair of blades is precision ground from Cobalt Tool Steel to yield optimum results and are easily replaced by the user. Slitter blades have a life expectancy of > 2 km unless excessive wear is caused by abrasive contamination.
Military, harsh environment and commercial cables have unique qualities. Therefore, CPT2 blades are sold separately. The table below provides the details and specifications of available blades. Contact Luminos to discuss the possibility of custom blades.
